The South Lansing Community Development Association always needs volunteers to help with our many projects and in the office. Do you have a particular set of skills that you would like to share with us and the community?  We welcome volunteers with experience in graphic design, gardening, advertising, event promotions, and accounting.  Volunteers are essential to the Hawk Island Triathlon, South Lansing Community Farmers Market, Southside Showcase Community Fair, South Lansing Urban Gardens, youth garden/nutrition classes, communications/outreach, among other programs.  We’re happy to match you with an opportunity that suits your interests and skills.

Internships
We have a variety of opportunities for high school and college students to expand their learning in the community. We have received applications from students with a variety of academic and professional interests, including community economic development, urban planning, sustainable agriculture, urban anthropology, public health, nutrition & dietetics, kinesiology, psychology, public policy, nonprofit management, landscape architecture, communications & journalism, social justice, and graphic design.

We encourage our interns to take a proactive leadership role while addressing the needs of the South Lansing Community. To become an intern at SLCDA, please look over our current internship openings, fill out the application below, and sent it as an email attachment along with your resume and three references to volunteer@southlansing.org.
